Sohonet Digs Up London

Over the last month, Sohonet contractors have been busy laying new fibre to expand the Sohonet London network. As part of a program to upgrade existing customers as well as connect new facilities, Sohonet has installed over 10 miles of fibre to connect new customers including Absolute Post, Evolutions, Future Post, Molinare, Picture Production Company, Root6, and Turner Broadcasting. Existing customers upgrading include De Lane Lea, Double Negative, Framestore, IMS, The Mill, Midnight Transfer, Picasso Pictures and Xtreme Information.

All these customers will benefit from Sohonet's enhanced diagnostics, and have a quick and easy path to upgrade their connection speed to Gigabit and beyond as digital delivery requirements continue to expand. The major productions connected to sohonet over the last year exchanged so much Digital Intermediate material across the network that even 100Mb/s connections were becoming saturated - but the Sohonet Network performed flawlessly and this latest build is to ensure that this continues.
